Cameron is almost finished serving the Lord in Florida. He will be home on April 18th 2011 but we will be seeing him on April 12th and spending the week in Florida with him. I still don't have a date when he will be speaking either Easter Sunday April 24th or Mothers Day May 8th. I talked to our Bishop and he will decide soon, it does look like he is leaning towards Mothers Day though. Cameron is doing great and is working hard but as you can see by some of the pictures having fun too. I can't believe that this journey is coming to an end.

Elder Cloward is a Newby/Greenie in Arlington with his Trainer Elder Terry. He has come a long way since then.

It snowed all Sunday night and we all woke to this. Heavy snow and a lot of it. Glenn had to drive me to work in the 4 wheel drive. I could barely get in the door.

Provo Tabernacle

I know it's been forever since I have updated. But not a lot goes on here. I guess that's good. How ever our beloved Tabernacle burnt to destruction two weeks ago. It is totally gutted. It is not sure if it can be saved. This is the place that Cameron played with the Utah Youth Symphony when they had Concerts. This building is very old and a big loss.

There was a portrait of Jesus that had burned and as you can see Jesus is all that is left. A Christmas Miracle some say.

Pioneers constructed the Provo Tabernacle from 1883 to 1898. The cost was $100,000. Not many buildings have hosted LDS General Conference, but it took place at the Provo Tabernacle in 1886 and 1887. Since it's dedication in 1898, the Provo Tabernacle has been the venue for many historic events. Latter-Day Saint prophets, U.S. presidents and eminent scholars have come to the Tabernacle to give speeches and presentations. But the Provo Tabernacle was also a place where schoolchildren sang, community members were honored in funerals, and people of various faiths met to pray. The Tabernacle was not only a grand building to behold, it was a grand place to come together.

Thursday morning on the plane about to back up and taxi. I was very nervous to say the least. Had a little crying episode during take off. Just envisioning the plane slamming to the ground at take off that's all. Once the plane was in the air and seat belt lights were out I was fine. South West provided me with a Sprite Zero, napkin to dry my eyes and peanuts.

The flight went smooth and I got to San Diego safely. Mom had most of the weekend planned and I couldn't wait to get there. First thing to do when land was get my car and head to mom's for lunch and shopping. Later dinner at Anthony's. Woot

After my arrival mom had shopping in store for me and then dinner with my brother Jeremy and my other Brother Aaron and his wife Joy and my mom and John her hubby. This is probably one of my favorite places to come to when I am in town. The Embarcadaro.

Mom is about to give Aaron a hug and Joy is talking with Jeremy, They just arrived today also. Aaron and Joy live in Utah and Jeremy live in Texas. So good to see them. It was funny cause Joy says to me that we have to meet up in San Diego to see each other. We don't see enough of each other even though we live in the same state.

Jeremy and I decided to eat before the races he also wanted to visit the Inn he used to work at in Delmar so he took me to a little sandwich shop called the Board & Brew. It was very good.

Mom and John treated us to a day at the races. We were in grandstand box seats. When me and Jeremy arrived to our seat this lady wiped down are seats for us.

So after the races me and Jeremy leave the gates of the race track to maybe go to a movie or go do something. As we are leaving there are banners saying there is a concert but we didn't know who was playing. We leave through the gate and there is a sign that says once you leave you can't get back in. I was curious to know who was performing so as Jeremy was walking ahead of me I stopped real quick to ask this lady guard she tells me English Beat, now I heard of the band but I didn't know what songs they sang so I asked Jeremy if he knew English Beat that they were the ones performing and he stopped dead in his tracks. He was like "No Way" I'm like "Way" This is one of his top ten favorite bands and even brought their CD with him on this trip. So we go back to the gate and very sweetly ask the guard if we can go back in and she does give us the Ok. As soon as I heard them I knew their songs. Fun Concert

After the Concert Jeremy wanted to take me to the Piano Bar, a place where he could sing. It's Karaoke but the music is played by a man playing the Piano. There are song books and people who are regulars bring there own music. They sit around the piano and take turns singing. They were all very good.

Jeremy and I walked in and Joe who has been the piano player for years sees him and just is so glad he is there. He introduces him while he is playing.

They sang a Billy Joel duet and Jeremy told me he was the one who got Joe into Billy Joel and he bought his first song book for the bar, what was interesting is that after they sang the duet Joe says to everyone that Jeremy started it all with the Billy Joel songs. Joe didn't know we were talking about that earlier. It was a real fun time.

Well the reason I came home for the Labor Day weekend was to be a part of my mom's Birthday celebration. John her husband put on this Birthday bash and all the family was able to make it but one daughter who is in Thailand. It was so fun and great to see everyone.

Taking a little tour of my old ward building

Jeremy and I decided to take a little tour of our old ward house on Trojan Ave. Being Sunday afternoon we were hoping it was open because there is a gate around it now and it has been locked up when I was able to go by it in the past. To our luck it was open. This church has a lot of great memories for me and I think it has to be one of the most beautiful older churches built.

Mt Nebo's Devil's Kitchen

Glenn and I decided to see if Mount Nebo was passable as the snows were melting from winter. It was late spring in May of this year it wasn't clear yet and this was as far as we got. It just so happened to be on the top of the mountain and we decided to take a walk up to Devils Kitchen about 1/4 mile from the parking area it's our own little Bryce Canyon.

Debbie Blair comes up with the idea of a cookie exchange. Make cookies meet somewhere exchange the cookies you made with other moms who show up with their cookies and mail them to your Missionary. Works for me and sounded fun. Well it was. We met at Kim Cundick's house her son is serving in Jacksonville Florida same as mine and about 10 or more showed up with yummy cookie dough (Thanks Wendy) for us to eat and fruit yogurt and some Blueberry Strudel cake Etc.. We made cards supplied and taught by Michelle Denson and ate, visited, and then divvied out cookies to mail to our Missionaries. I can say the Cameron loved them h said they were great. I even have more to send him. I had a great time. Thanks all.

Hummingbird Feeder

I remember going to my Aunt and Uncles for 4th of July and hanging from the back porch awning was a hummingbird feeder and I loved watching them come to feed. Thinking I would get one for my house one day well I always wanted a Hummingbird Feeder but never bothered to get one. But for my Birthday my friend got me one not knowing that I always wanted one. It's beautiful and I love it and so do the Hummingbirds. I love to read under my tree and wait for them.

Tripper has gone to a new home.

That's right. I sold Tripper on (Friday April 9th 2010) to a really nice couple who live in Park City. I know he is getting a great home and that they love him. I haven't been able to ride him for about two years, so now he will get ridden which is so important for a horses health and happiness. I will miss him so much but the new owners promise me that I can come visit him anytime which I plan to do. In the mean time I hope to board out my stalls so I will still have horses here I just won't be responsible to ride them when I physically can't. For all those who have helped me with him whether it was feeding him when I was out of town or riding him to give him exercise thank you from the bottom of my heart. Michele

Viva Le Chile!!!

There is a Chilean family (Brother Ramos) in my ward they are also my neighbors and they put together a wonderful fundraiser for his country. He told us his family in Chile are fine who we know because they were in our ward too before they moved back to Chile.
For a five dollar ticket we were entertained by a band and dancers and Chilean foods. It was so fun and a great cause. I was so glad that we could help with my friends and help support his great country during this hard time of earthquakes and the tsunami.

Talk I gave in Sacrament Meeting on The progress of Camerons Mission

Good Morning Brother’s and Sisters,

The last time I got up in front of sacrament meeting Cameron was 9 years old. I had bourne my testimony when Cameron was baptized. Because Cameron didn’t get baptized until he was 9 he was considered a convert so as a family we took the missionary lessons and now Cameron is giving those same lessons to other families.

When Cameron’s Mission call came we were so excited for him. He was called to Jacksonville Florida which includes part of Georgia. Cameron was so excited to see President Monson’s actual signature, that the next day he framed it. He left on April 8^thof 2009 and that was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do was to say goodbye to him at the MTC.

Over the past 9 months we have been lucky to be able to E-mail once a week. He has 30 minutes to read and respond and sometimes if we are lucky Cameron and I could be on the computer at the same time and have a real live conversation. It only last a couple minutes but it is so special, we have been able to speak with him on Mothers Day and just recently on Christmas, It is a blessing that there is so much communication.

Cameron had been in Florida maybe a month. I was turning channels on the T.V and went past the weather channel and something caught my eye. There was a news man standing at the shoreline of a beach with waves pounding and down below words scrolling it said something like “Jacksonville Beach, Florida, huge storm pounding beach”. Ok so being the worry wart that I am and a first time missionary mom I called the Mission office and talked to Sister Bishop the mission office secretary. I needed to know that he was Ok, I was especially worried about him bike tracting in this storm or any storm. Sister Bishop reassured me that he was fine that she just saw him a couple of days ago and that she had recognized his name and that she remembered him. She told me that it rains almost every day some days harder then others and that it is refreshing rain and that most of the missionaries enjoy being out in it. Not to worry. A couple of days later we received a letter in the mail with pictures from Cameron. One of the pictures was Cameron and his companion arm over shoulders with thumbs up drenched from head to toe with these big wide eyed smiles and on the back of the picture it says” just got done bike tracting in the rain. I knew that the lord was already inspiring Cameron, to put me at ease and I then knew he was in great hands.

Cameron tells us that Jacksonville is one of the hardest working missions. December 14^th 2009 Cameron writes, “So we have our mission goal to baptize 1050 people for the year, this has been very stressful for the leaders, for they always talk about it and stress it. But as of right now, we have 25 people scheduled to be confirmed this week, that means that we just need 18 more baptisms until we reach our goal. This number, 1050 is the Highest this Mission has done, ever. In fact, currently, we have done the most ever, we just want 1050. It truly is exciting.” Well near the end of the month they were up to 1078 and still going. He then writes Jan 4 2010 “We have received our new official year’s goal. It’s 3050. 1300 Baptisms and 1750 less active reactivations. Yup, that means that we are working with less actives and the ward members this year, it’s very exiting. I have been waiting for this for a while now. I really think that this will by my strong point.” I can tell that Cameron is growing so much and knows how important this work is.

Cameron has had some great successes; these next conversions are in his words. I will start off with Margaret and Gina. 7/6/09 He writes We have a Baptism scheduled this Saturday for two people. We are really thinking that they will get baptized on this date, they are ready. Their names are Margret and Gina. Gina is the 14 year old Daughter to Margret. They are both Catholic, but just don’t feel like it’s the church for them. Gina already knows that this Church is true, but Margret I think is still holding on to her previous relations with the Catholic Church. Then she said she looked into Islam!! Where did that come from?? That’s what Elder Thacker and I were thinking. I mean, Catholics at least have the Jesus Christ is our savior down, but Islam is WAY off! So we had a good talk with her yesterday, she kept talking about how she still likes some things in the catholic church, but doesn’t believe in everything, and the same with Islam, so we invited President Newman to teach her, because he is a convert from the Catholic Church, so he just told her "Margret, let go of everything you are holding on to about those past religions, because they dont have the full truth ok." The spirit was so strong in her house. It was so sweet.7/13/09 Ok, so check this out, Margaret and Gina were both Baptized on Friday, the 10th. They were then confirmed in Sacrament meeting Yesterday, and I confirmed Margaret. Oh man that was scary! I have never done that before, but she wanted me to, so I did it. They are both solid members now. I am so happy for them.

11/2/2009 We did find another really cool person though! Her name is Penny. She was able to come to church too! It was so great to see her there. On Saturday we were able to teach her a little bit, when I noticed something in a flower pot next to me. It was a plant with one large leaf and two smaller leaves on each side of it, after looking at it for a while, I thought to myself, "Wow, that sure does look like Marijuana" Before we left, I asked penny, "Hey, do you mind if I take this plant?" She replied" "Yes! You can’t have that; do you know what that is?" I said "Yes, its something that you shouldn’t have, plus its illegal too." This was after we went over the words of wisdom with her; she said that she wasn’t doing any drugs. she claimed that it was her husbands, so she didn’t want him to get mad if we took it. So we kept it there. The next day Elder Kohler who is Cameron’s Companion and Elder Frampton who lives in the same apartment went over to her house to pick her up for church, while she was still in the house; Elder Frampton sees it and says "Is that the plant?" Elder Kholer says yes. So Elder Frampton plucks the plant and crumbles it up and buries it in the ground! She didn’t notice till after church when she called us up saying "Do you know what happened to that one plant?" Elder Kohler is on the phone, he says "What plant?" "You know, the one plant that you guys were talking about, its gone" "Oh, you mean the ONE plant, yeah, its gone?" "Yes, do you know what happened to it?" "Well, I didn’t touch it, so no" "Oh, ok, well do you know when I can sign up for the thanksgiving basket?" She completely changed the subject to what Elder Kohler and her were talking about earlier. So we now don’t believe it to be hers, which is good. And it’s good that its gone now. So that was pretty exiting! Ok I didn’t even know Cameron knew what a Marijuana plant looked like.

This last story is one he told us on Christmas. It is the story of a woman named Linda. .. As it turns out Linda had already been taught the discussions 2 years prior but felt pressured to be baptized. This made her and her husband feel uneasy and so they stopped the lessons. So 2 years later Cameron knocks on her door and was able to make an appointment and leave her a Book of Mormon.

Cameron describes “During the first lesson she just soaked it up. A light bulb clicked on and she was so excited. You could really feel the spirit” Linda loves the feeling she gets when going to our church.

Linda’s family and Pastor are very much against the Mormons They filled her with false doctrine and “antied’ her away. As Cameron put it. The day of the 2^nd lesson came, Linda had doubts again. Her Pastor had been there and confused her. Telling her that the Mormons are evil. She felt confused and conflicted, but they went ahead with lesson #2 anyway. Again she soaked it up and she felt the spirit. They challenged her to be baptized. Her and her Husband agreed and set a date.

As the baptism date approached, they get a phone call from Linda. Once again her family and Pastor had tried to save her from the evil Mormons. She was confused and was considering calling off the baptism. They dropped everything and rushed to her house. Cameron’s companion got a bit stern with her saying.” Linda How do you feel when we come and teach you and when you read the book of Mormon and go to church” She replies in tears “I feel Good” How do you feel after talking to your pastor? “I feel bad” They ask “What can we do?” Linda replies “I need another lesson, so we teach lesson #3. During the lesson you could feel the darkness leave and was replaced with a feeling of the spirit.

Finally!! The day had come for her baptism. Linda is confined to a wheel chair and can’t really walk. The next concern was how they would get her into the font.

They asked. “Linda do you believe god will allow you to be baptized? You have to have faith.” She replied “yes” She received a blessing and was able to walk unassisted into the font. But After the baptism she could not walk and had to be lifted out of the font and back into her wheelchair.

Cameron believes that he witnessed a miracle that day.

Cameron has so many wonderful experiences, to many to mention but he tells us that he loves his mission (except for the Humidity.) He has a lot more to do before he is ready to come home. We are so blessed and thankful for his sacrifice. We can hear the change in his voice and his love for the gospel. He makes us want to be better members, to do better in our lives and to learn more about the gospel, to attend the Temple more where we feel closer to him and our savior. He wanted me to tell you “It makes me feel great knowing that people care for me and are wondering how I am doing, you can tell them that I am doing great,” Keep the letters coming!!

This Christmas was a very exciting Christmas. I could not wait for this day to arrive. Not because of Christmas Presents or Santa but because Cameron was calling us on this day and he did about 8:30 in the morning we talked for a few hours and found out he had the phone all day so we hung up knowing we could talk to him later on. He was able to call and talk to some of his friends and his Grand Mother and any family members that were there. I know he delivered the best present. So after we hung up we did the opening of the gifts.

We were invited to a Christmas dinner given by Carmen and Carl Glenn's Nephew and his wife. It was great to see everyone in one place. Winn and Susan came in from California as did Meredith and Mike. Shanna and Cameron and family came in from Colorado and the rest of us are Utahns. There was a theme to this Christmas dinner. We had a Mexican Christmas Dinner and boy was it good. Cameron my son who is on his mission was also there by phone call. He was able to talk to most everyone. This was a great ending to a wonderful Christmas.

OK, so there are three Birthdays we were celebrating. Carmen's Sister's Birthday was on Christmas Day, Cameron's is also on Christmas Day but he was not there in person (by phone) because he is on his mission and Susan was having her B-Day the next Day on the 26th. John, my Mom and myself spent the day after Thanksgiving touring the USS Midway. I wish we could have seen everything but there was no time to do it all. The tour was fascinating and just neat. I recommend it to those who live in San Diego or are visiting. Our Military are amazing and what they do to protect our country.

Spending Thanksgiving in Sunny San Diego was just great. Lot's of family and great food, I couldn't have asked for a better day.
This is my moms backyard now. It's a little different then when I grew up there, Ok a lot different. The structure in the backround is San Diego State University's parking garage and classroom building. Those I remember.

Tripper was hungry, he has eaten the pasture to nothing.

It is about 6:45 am this morning, yes Sunday morning and we were even able to make it to our 9:30 church meeting. Tripper needed hay he was completely out not a bale in site in the hay barn. We had to wait until 3rd crop was done and baled and this morning was it. Because of the heat during the day and church we had to get the hay in the early morning.

My New Friends The Missionary Moms.

Since Cameron left in April I had been looking for someone or something to help me through the lonely and difficult times. Someone to talk to who could relate to my emotions, to get idea's for care packages and inside information on his mission and boy did I find it. The Florida Missionary Moms. Florida has 5 working Missions. Jacksonville (Cameron's), Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Tallahassee. The mom's on this site have son's or daughter's in one of these Florida Missions. What a blessing to have found them and I found them just when a luncheon had been planned months ago here in Utah. What luck I get to meet all these women that I had started talking to. So August 29th 2009 was the first annual Luncheon in South Jordan Utah at Madeleine's a restaurant owned by a member. I had some company on the way up, I picked up one of the Jacksonville mom's who needed a ride what was cool is she is from California and her son was in Jacksonville so we had good conversation.

So when I walked in the banquet room I saw just beautiful tables my senses were overloaded. The colors of the different tables that were on display were just beautiful. So this is my place setting. The tables were sectioned by mission.

Each place setting had gifts on them.

This table was a different gift table. Some of the categories were Whose Missionary has been out 6 months, 12 months, 18 mo and coming home.(wish) Mom closest to the restaurant and mom who traveled farthest and other categories.

Here is the Missionary table's. We were asked to bring pictures of our Missionary and Debbie (the Mom who put this luncheon together) had gotten maps of each mission then had pins and our missionary's names on little paper where we could pin where they were at that time.
Here is the Jacksonville table Cameron's picture is in the maroon-Jeweled frame. That is Cameron's frame that his Aunt Anna gave to him with a picture of Jesus in it when he was younger so I thought it would be neat to use it for this.

Here are some of the Florida Moms sitting down for Lunch. On the back of the chairs are capes made by Debbie. She made about 35 capes I can't even begin to convey the feelings from everyone and all the work Debbie put into this. She is our Super Hero Super Mom. We are the cape flying/alligator boot wearing/ in our sunglasses in cognito Missionary Mom's.
Lunch is served. Salmon with creamy mashed potatoes and yummy green beans. We also had fresh rolls in baskets that were on the table and strawberry lemonade. Dessert for me was cheese cake.
Here is a group of moms, unfortunately I wasn't able to meet everyone and so I don't know which mission this is. I was mostly with the Jacksonville moms, I regret not spreading my cape a bit and circling other parts of the room.

Ok, so the end of the luncheon was amazing. Debbie told us we had a special guest coming to speak to us near the end of the luncheon. I asked if it was President Monson she assured us it was not even though she was on a first named basis with our beloved prophet. It was a good laugh. So at the end of the luncheon she went to Missionary tables and behind the maps were some baskets, she handed us each a packet of quotes and poems and in the middle of it was a white envelope and I could see a little of the writing on it and I knew right away that it was a letter from Cameron, I totally lost it. I have not cried since Cameron left in the MTC. There was a letter from Cameron's Companion Elder See and of course Cameron. He was able to keep this secret for quit some time. It was so quiet and not a dry eye in the house. Debbie had contacted each of the mission offices and asked them to reach all of the missionaries who's mothers were attending the luncheon and ask them to write their mom's a letter and mail them to the mission office and then to Debbie.That is just incredible to do something like that for us. I wish I had pictures of everyone reading their letters but I was reading:) Very special day indeed.

Here is Cameron and his Companion Elder Terry in Arlington his first Area when he arrived in Florida. It had been raining everyday and they still had to do their bicycle tracting. I remember surfing the T.V channels one day and the weather channel was talking about the storms at Jacksonville Beach. I called the Mission Office to make sure he was alright I was assured that he was just fine and I guess he was.

Elder Adams, Elder Porter, Elder Terry and Cameron. This is inside his apartment in Arlington. Elder Terry is Cameron's Companion and the other two are roommates serving in a different area.

Hey ma and pa! Its really great to hear from you.

Well, I sent you a letter from my new location a few days ago, you might not have received it, but it has my address in it, but I will tell you the new address anyways. Its:

This city is the oldest city in the U.S., so there is a bunch of history here. In the 1500's the city was attacked by Pirates a lot, so the city theme is pirates. The computer i'm on to email you is in a Pirate souvenir shop that a member owns. And guess what! No time limit!, well, at least for the next 6 weeks, if I get transferred again.

Ha ha, yes, I did share my treats you gave me, they were so good. Yumm!! My clothes are holding up quite well. HEY!!!!! In one of the pockets in my brown suit is a paper that has some words on it like Aaron Boaz and stuff. Keep that. This is a missionary in the MTC that I ran into with the last name of Boaz, so I asked him if he knew an Aaron Boaz, and he said that he is his brother. He is going to Chile I think. We were talking about family and stuff, so I know that we are related. Sorry, I got so caught up in stuff that I forgot to tell you.

On P-Days we get to do some sight seeing and stuff, pretty much whatever comes to mind. This morning Elder Thacker and I went to the Beach and made some sand castles, that was pretty fun! One thing though, is that its not like the beach in California, it is Hot Hot Hot with a bunch of Humidity. Its weird because it won't even feel hot outside, but your still sweating like your in a sauna, because of the Humidity. We are the only companionship in our apartment, its just a small two man apartment.

The Apartment isn't too bad, the washer doesn't work, so we have to go the the Sisters to wash our clothes, all of the dishes are hand washed and dried, nothing to special :)

This week has been really hard, It has been high 80's with 95% Humidity, that's like 105 Degrees people say. Super hot. One thing though, is that usually it rained every 2-3 days, but it has only rained once for the past week and a half. All except one of my ties I have are silk, so I can't get them wet, I would love if you could please send some non silk ties or some ties that can get wet, because it still rains a lot, and we contact people in the rain. If you could please do that, that would be awesome!

The Sisters in our district just had a baptism on Saturday, that was pretty cool, the person that baptized him has never baptized anyone before, just barely got the Melchizedek Priesthood, and has only been a member for 2 months! It took about 12 tries before he went all the way under the water. It was exciting.

This week has been pretty hot again. We have a Baptism scheduled this Saturday for two people. We are really thinking that they will get Baptized on this date, they are ready. There names are Margret and Gina.

Gina is a 14 year old Daughter to Margret. They were both Catholic, but just don't feel like its the church for them. Gina already knows that this Church is true, but Margret I think is still holding on to her previous relations with Catholicism. Then she said she looked into Islam!! Where did that come from?? That's what Elder Thacker and I were thinking. I mean, Catholics at least have the Jesus Christ is our savior down, but Islam is WAY off! So we had a good talk with her yesterday, she kept talking about how she still likes some things in the Catholic church, but doesn't believe in everything, and the same with Islam, so we invited President Newman to teach her, because he is a convert from a Catholic Church, so he just told her "Margret, let go of everything you are holding on to about those past religions, because Catholics, are wrong, and Islam, Has no idea on what they are doing, ok." The spirit was so strong in her house. It was so sweet.

FOOT NOTE: Margaret and Gina were Baptized 7/10/09 and Cameron was asked by Margaret to do the confirmation it took place at sacrament meeting 7/12/09. This was his first time to do a confirmation he said he was nervous but the spirit was strong with him.

Idaho Vacation So Fun

Destination? Cataldo Id to visit my sister Emily at the Northern tip of Idaho 100 miles from Canada and Southern Idaho (Boise) to visit Glenn's sister Lynn. 1700 miles round trip. Who is going? Just me and Glenn and Martha the GPS. Who Is driving? Only Glenn. Why because I am afraid to drive that rig it is huge. The camper is 11 ft 4 in on a long bed truck. So we left our home in Utah on June 20th in the morning leaving our animals in the capable hands of a good friend and her two boys. Two dogs, 4 chickens, 1 cat, 1 horse.

We are in Idaho falls, with the Temple in the back ground.

This is a video of the Hydro Electric System. They use the Snake River to generate power for thousand of homes and businesses. The residents took a vote and decided to pay for this over a period of time.

This is a restaurant on the Snake River called the Sand Piper, it was cold but they had outdoor fire pits so we ate outside.
First night stay, we found this Lake and saw other campers so we decided to camp there also. This is at Clark's Reservoir in Montana. (Lewis and Clark)

This is at the reservoir at a look out. There is a placard that talks about Lewis and Clark and the Indians. There are some drawings by Clark showing this Island and him talking to Indians down below it. This was a valley and that was a mountain.
We stayed the second night in Missoula Montana. It rained all night. Loved it.

Montana Rest Stop. These Chipmunks came right up to us. There were lots of them running around, they would come up to you and beg and if you had no food they would scamper off to the next person.
We are now at Emily's in Cataldo, Id. They live in the middle of a forest over looking Rose Lake. We spent two nights there. We are at a park in Coeur d'Alene. It was Beautiful. It was nice and warm at first then it started to cool way down. That is the resort in the background. They had sea plane rides and para sailing.

So we have left Emilys and are heading to Lynn's. This is a rest stop in Washington. This is a stage coach and horses made out of horse shoes it was for sale. I would have bought it but where would I put it. How would I get it home. Darn
This is a house(Mansion) nestled at the banks of the Columbia River going into Oregon.
Very hungry so we stopped at a Oregon rest stop and had a barbaque. Can you tell what we ate?
Ok so we come to a campsite in Oregon and it was like I never left home these 4 chickens were at our site. They stayed by us and followed us. I guess they were abandoned. Roosting time was funny. They had a hard time finding a place and kept falling out of the tree's I even made them a roost but they found one on their own and settled for the night.
Here we are at camp chicken about to go to bed. First we had to let the campfire die.
This is the campfire that we are trying to get to die and I was telling Glenn that the log has a face of the Grinch. Look at it, it does.
We made it to Lynns in Nampa Id. We treated her to dinner and a movie. It was fun to spend time with her and for me to get to know her better.We also got to visit with Sara our Niece at her work. We spent the night at Lynn's house.
One of our last stops Glenn's Ferry at the Snake River, Id. Part of the Oregon trail to get settlers across the river. The ferry is in a museum now and they have a big celebration every August. They used to do actual re-enactments but one of the locals told us that the city council said no more because of safety reasons. We also stopped at a Idaho Winery in the same town. Didn't know Idaho had Winery's.

We got home on Sunday, June 28th about 2pm. It was a great time.

On June 3rd 2009 my Jack Russell Terrier Sprite passed away. I am sure he will be met by his companion Crystal who passed on a few years ago. He was 11 years old. That is 77 years in human years. He was a good dog and always let us know when someone was at our house welcome or not. He loved his little swimming pool and loved to dig in the water and just bark at his reflection.He was spunky and was a very big dog in a small body.He was loved and will be missed.

It was a cold morning with a light drizzle of rain but our spirits were high. The time to report in was 11:30 am so I had time to make pancakes for breakfast. Cameron had two big suitcases I wasn't sure if we could get it in my car.
We arrived at the MTC and it was very organized. There were plenty of volunteers to help with where to take luggage. Cameron's luggage was stationed at letter "F" He left it there, then we three headed for the lobby.

On the way to the lobby we found a volunteer to take our picture in front of the bicycling Missionaries.
When we got into the lobby Cameron went in one door and we went in another. Cameron received his name tag and his card to get into the cafeteria and his room.
We were able to take as many pictures as we wanted in the lobby area, but as soon as we felt we were done it was time to go down the long and lonely hall to orientation we had to turn off our phones and no pictures.

We went to orientation after this picture, I was wondering if I was going to cry since I hadn't shedded a tear yet. Well I walked in sat down with Cameron in the middle of us and I just started crying through the whole orientation.You could really feel the love there, the spirit was just so strong. Before it started they were showing LDS commercials and also some statistics. Did you know that 400 gallons of milk is used a day. Anyway when it was time to sing I could not sing the song "Call to Serve" The guy behind me could though. The Mission Pres spoke and so did his wife the RS Pres. They assured us that they will get hugged and that they are not just faces in a sea of people. We were also advised not to write messages on the sidewalk to our missionary, or to have "unanticipated" meetings at the temple or to try to hand deliver foods. I guess they new all my thoughts ;) The gate surrounding the MTC is not to keep the Missionary's in but keep us parents out. Man can't get past them. We watched a short film which made me cry more and then it was over we hugged I had a hard time letting him go and then he went out one door and we went out the other door. Emotionally draining but so happy for him and know he will gain so much from this experience. He leaves for Florida April 29th.

Cameron's Farewell went great and his talk was wonderful I was so proud of him. As you can see there was a ton of food. Cameron loves the Chocolate fountain so I got it out.

We were so happy that Cameron's Aunt and Uncle could come this is Winn and his daughter Shana and her son. Thank you Winn, Susan and Adam for coming. Cameron, Shanna and their family for also coming.

We are so happy that Cameron was able to go to the Temple yesterday. He was able to be escorted by his dad and his cousin Adam who goes to BYU so we are lucky that Adam is here in town. Thank you Natalie for experiencing this with me and holding my hand when needed. It was a very special time for the three of us. Cameron told me he looks forward until the next time he can go.

So last month Glenn and Cameron took a short trip to Idaho to visit Glenn's sister Lynn. Lynn has her own dog grooming business so you can see the Poodle she is working on. I know they really enjoyed the time spent with her. On one of the days the boys took a spontaneous trip into Oregon. Glenn got to experience the gas stations there, they are all full serve you are not allowed to put fuel in your vehicles I guess New Jersey is the only other state that has this law, then it looks like they visited the Oregon Trail visitor center. All in all fun trip. Me I had to work, though I did like this time to myself.

So this year 2008 we had Christmas upstairs. We usually have Christmas down stairs but our basement flooded two weeks before Christmas, so I had to take everything down and bring Christmas upstairs. I acually liked it better since our tree is upstairs and I think we may have Christmas up there again. Cameron had a missionary Christmas. He should get his call in about a month.

My family had Thanksgiving dinner with my brother Aaron and Joy their kids. It was so fun to help Joy cook Thanksgiving dinner for all of us. I usually cook for three people so this was a treat. I come from a big family so a full house was just what I needed. I came up Wednesday and spent the night so I could help Joy. As you can see we were well fed and the decor was beautiful. Of course we had a few mishaps, Turkey was being stubborn and took a little longer to cook and some rolls got burned (That happened after we ate we were making extra for people to take home and they were forgotton.) I am so glad we were able to spend some time together and get reaquanted with Joys family.

So Twilight has come at last. So a few of us girls got together and went to the opening weekend, Friday night 9:25 pm to be exact. I thought getting there around 8pm would be plenty of time before a line would start but when we got to the theater the line had already started way before 8pm. It was fun talking to the other people anticipating and anxious to see this movie. I asked some of the men that had arrived if they were there because they wanted to be or did their wives or girlfriends drag them. I think most were dragged. Ha Ha
I won't give anything away but I will say this I will be going back to see it again. I really liked this movie very much and felt that it kept pretty close to the book. I wasn't sure how I felt about the casting of Edward but I am sold now. Kristen Stewart (Bella) I believe understood her and really played her well, I was afraid she was going to make her boring but that was not the case.The actor who played Charlie, Bella's dad was wonderful and funny. The rest of the cast was right on.
So all you Twilighters out there go see this movie on the big screen.

Sundance in Fall

We went up to Sundance a few weeks ago, we wanted to see the leaves changing before it was to late. We had just had a storm so there was some snow in the mountains. Before you get to the Sundance resort there is a water fall called Bridal Veil Falls, It is so pretty. So here are some pictures of the falls and then the resort.

On August 21st 2008 Cameron had his Court of Honor and it went great. It took place overlooking our lake and it turned out to be a really nice day, a little windy but all in all real nice. In this video Cameron and Nathan the other boy who got his Eagle are reciting the Eagle Scout Oath.

We were
told the story of Eagle Boy and the four birds of prey. Falcon, Hawk, Owl and Eagle, Cameron got to feed the Hawk which is in this this video 5:30 on the counter. There is 8 minutes of the 25 minute program.

Cameron's Eagle Scout Court Of Honor is going to be held on August 21st at 7 pm here in Spring Lake at the Park by our Lake. He is sharing this with another Eagle Scout. Please come if you can.

Spring Lake mountain on fire above my home.

Hi All, So a fire broke out in Spring lake where I live. It is breaking news here in Utah. My mountain is burning. My house is safe but it is still pretty close. There has been 14 home evacuee's and a scout camp of about 450 boys. One of the guys I work with had his house surrounded by this fire but it didn't burn luckily. It was 101 degrees with winds at 25 miles per hour. This fire is still burning as I write this. I am so sad about our mountain it was beautiful.

Cameron received his rank of Eagle Scout on December 26th 2007, one day after his 18th Birthday. He was given the extra day because his Birthday is on Christmas Day. Even though he pushed it to the very last day he was determined to get it done and he did. He never gave up and we are so proud. Cameron's Court of honor will be sometime in August 2008.

Here we are proud parents and the scouting board with our Eagle Scout. The board wanted to know what his project was so he told them about it. So here is his project, he worked hard on it with his dad and other scouts and leaders.

Cameron decided to refurbish the historical sign at The lake in Spring Lake. It was extremly weather worn, and lettering was starting to peel off.

Here is the before picture of the sign. This sign stands in front of our local lake right on the main road thru Spring Lake, so it is a sign that is very visible. The other thing is this is a historical site and so Cameron had to go thru some different avenues to get the permission he needed. Utah county comissioner of historical sites gave him the Ok once he knew it would be done in a professional manner.

First things first, we feed the scouts a great breakfast to give them the energy to help Cameron with the sign. Plus it made them want to come to help out. We know how to finesse.

Cameron showed his leadership skills in instucting the scouts where and what they could do to help.

Here the scouts are priming and sanding the back of the sign.

Cameron is helping Tom, Glenn's fellow teacher in the Automotive Dept work on the final lettering for the sign.It's really starting to come together now.

So hi all, I have joined the bloggers community thanks to my wonderful cousin Mandy who showed me the way. This weekend was what us girls in our family call Diva Weekend. Yes we are Divas and proud of it. July 10th thru July 13th we got together in the hot desert of Palm Desert and stayed in my Aunts condo.Some of the activities we do are crafts, water aerobics, spiritual lessons, shopping and eating and great company.

This was one of our crafts that Diva Anna had us do. We made these fruit baskets and they looked beautiful, and smelled so sweet. They were sure delicious.
